I was born at Castglion Fiorentino in 1961, where I still live. The town is of Etruscan origin and has strong cultural ties with its past. Its lifestyle is still regulated by the rhythm whispered by the surrounding countryside, to those who have time to listen.
Embroidery is part of this rhythm. It is part of my life which I share with other female presences – the first being of course, my mother. She prefers above all to embroider roses of every hue. All the most important moments of her life are recalled through the use of needle and thread.
Elena Morini, embroiders known by all in town as a example of good taste and style. I was touched the emotions that her work conveyed to me. For the first time I found in myself the reasons why I needed to learn this art.
Ho cominciato guardare oltre per cercare di capire.
I started looking further to understand.
I found Thessy Schoenholzer, her eclectic character full of stimulation and know-how opened my mind, it was clear: threads are ancient learning and free expression.

I met Antonia Busi, who with passion and determination wanted to give the word – culture – to the humble works that women had always done. I got them to meet.
Lilli Babbi Cappelletti – she gave a professional finish to my know-how.
These are my teachers. My work is based on what I have studied and learnt from them.
In the year 2000, I opened Alice’s Textile Workshop, where research and teaching aims to recover the traditional techniques of the area between Tuscany and Umbria.
Embroidery like Caterina de Medici, Trapunto Fiorentino, Punto d’Arezzo, Deruta Antico have become alive again through a continuously increasing number of women.
I have been involved in the organization of the Italia Invita International lace and Embroidery Forum (www.italiainvita.it) and this has allowed me to widen my acquaintances, exchange opinions and ideas.
In the workshop I organize and teach to groups and hold courses for professional training.

I have taken part at the following shows:

  • Biennale Internazionale del Merletto Sansepolcro anni 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002 (6°premio-concorso internazionale), 2004
